Luxury Accommodation, Facilities and Dining

Kaimata Retreat is the ultimate in luxury accommodation. Our eco friendly lodge is perfectly placed for majestic coastal water views of Otago Peninsula. Whether you are looking for exclusive accommodation close to Dunedin or want to experience the Otago peninsula nature and wildlife in complete luxury, this is your sanctuary.
Kaimata Retreat has been built with macrocarpa timber harvested from the property, and architecturally designed to reflect the love of organic harmony that Kyle and Rachel share. Blending in with the environment the lodge is nestled into the hillside overlooking the tidal estuary of Papanui Inlet.
The interior is divided into two buildings, one side comprising of two stylish suites and a guest laundry. The other building has one suite and a large open plan dining, lounge and kitchen area.
Situated on 5 acres of coastal land, a planting programme continues to progress and now includes a variety of native flora, a two year old orchard and a burgeoning kitchen garden.
A private path winds to a grassy knoll by the water’s edge and a peaceful sandy cove. Wander along the shore and watch the clear waters swirl by. Take out the kayak or try the dingy for a gentle row around the bay.
