Your Hosts
Your hosts at Kaimata, Rachel Duell and Kyle Davidson will ensure your time on the Otago Peninsula is enjoyable and memorable. Both from Otago families, they purchased this property and completed the building of Kaimata Retreat in December 2006. With three adorable young children, a friendly pet dog and cat, the Davidson-Duell’s welcome you to their piece of paradise.
Kyle is a keen surfer and Rachel a keen gardener, together they share interests in horticulture, conservation, and adventure pursuits. Both have lived and worked overseas and both have explored the Pacific Rim in particular; Kyle experiencing Pacific Ocean surf breaks and Rachel having lived and worked in the Pacific Islands.
They reside in the original seaside cottage on the same property as Kaimata Retreat; Kyle is an established forestry contractor and Rachel’s background has been in the social services and employment matters. They enjoy sharing stories and experiences, and can provide quality information when talking about the local regions and general New Zealand.
